      • In January 2007 an AAI workshop was held at the World Social Forum in Kenya. This led to the first AAI Africa forum, held in March 2007, which brought together 32 organisations from nine South, East and Western African countries.

      • In 2008 a 14 member AAI Africa Steering Committee was established, including representatives from PELUM, SEATINI, the Eastern Africa Farmers Federation, Rural Outreach Program and POSDEV. In April 2008 4 working groups were established:
      • 1.GE & GMOs
      • 2.Food Sovereignty
      • 3.Corporate impact on the Rural Poor
      • 4.Corporate influence on Trade Agreements & Practices (EPAs)
